As a UK qualified educator, I hold a B.A in Business Studies, M.A in Educational Leadership and Management. My personal standards in education were established during my first appointment in in a school that was consistently judged to be outstanding by the UK Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted). This exposed me to excellence in teaching and learning and provides the benchmark from which I evaluate my progress and achievements as a school leader.

It was in 2006 that I began my international career in Yemen and then to Dubai in 2007 where I began working as a Senior Leader. This experience coincided with the introduction of Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau and I was able to witness the impact they made on raising standards in UAE schools.

I left Dubai in 2015 to extend my school leadership experience in Spain, Pakistan and Oman where I was able to transfer my understanding of school improvement to raise standards and academic outcomes.

I am delighted to have returned to Dubai and begin my work as Principal, Queen International School (QIS).

Welcome to Queen International school:

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Queen International School (QIS). Opened in 1998, QIS is among the more established and respected schools in Dubai. The strength of our school’s reputation is in the family values of our school owner, Mrs Malak, and her passion to create an environment where well-disciplined children are academically successful. Under the leadership of Mrs. Malak, the school has been among the top 10 UAE schools in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA).

QIS is an inclusive school that aims to ensure every child is given the opportunities and support they need to reach their potential academically, physically and socially.

Children who join QIS in the foundation stage follow a modified National Curriculum for England (NCfE) and the statutory framework for Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Education. The NCfE curriculum, outlines a methodology that is play-based and encourages learning activities which guide the development of children in age-appropriate ways. Through this curriculum, the Early Learning Goals, engage children in purposeful academic play with clear and specific learning objectives that enable them to reflect on their learning within the context of real-life experiences.

Our primary school is accredited to deliver the highly respected Cambridge International, Primary Curriculum. Cambridge Primary is a flexible curriculum that allows our teachers to adapt the lesson content and provide a local context that is supported by familiar, real-world examples that may be found in the heritage of our diverse school community.

The Cambridge pathway continues through the lower and into the upper secondary school. Lower secondary prepares children for the challenges of the IGCSE, AS and A2 board examinations at the end of Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. QIS students consistently achieve excellent grades in the board examinations and are equipped to enter the best universities within the UAE and around the world.

Learning Arabic, Islamic, moral values and the heritage of the UAE are highly respected and successful elements within the QIS curriculum. Arabic first and second language are taught from the foundation stage through to the end of Key Stage 4 when all learners have the option to sit for the Cambridge IGCSE first or second language examination. Under the direction and guidance of the UAE Ministry for Education, Moral education and UAE Social Studies are standalone subjects which instil the values of our communities and enable children learn about the history and geography of our host nation (UAE) and the Middle-East.

In all aspects of our curriculum and through a range of co-curricular activities, the QIS approach to learning aims to provide challenging, inspiring and rewarding experiences that add value beyond school. Through the medium of high-quality learning experiences, QIS learners are equipped with the necessary values, attitudes and skills to be globally astute citizens and effective contributors within their communities and the world.

To join our community of learners, kindly contact our admissions team who will make an appointment for you to visit the school and guide you in completing the admissions process.
